It’s been a while since I’ve updated the IDI Online blog. I have a lot of things planned for the summer regarding an upcoming 6.9 turbo engine rebuild, and the infamous 4×4 conversion. However, the quarantine has hampered my schedule.
In the meantime, I have been working on my VRV Project, where I manufacture and sell C6 Vacuum Regulator Valves. I decided to sacrifice one of my custom made VRV nozzles to see how strong the plastics are.
I make these VRV’s from high-strength plastics. Also, they have superior abrasion and heat resistance. One of the major issues of the Ford VRV is their plastics are really weak. Many people contact me looking for a VRV, because they broke off their small vacuum nozzles. I wanted to see just how strong the nozzles are with some real numbers. Here’s the video:
It’s pretty impressive to see that 45-lb weight dangling from my 3/16″ plastic nozzle. I was kind of shocked that was possible.
