I can reuse these motorcraft OEM ones.\u00a0 Hate to have to buy something new.\u00a0 Not that they aren&#8217;t hard to find, just would rather make these work.<\/p>\n<p>The hoses on the donor brake system were pretty much trash.\u00a0 I only kept them on so that it would keep shit from getting into the brake caliper.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full 473w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The old Econoline brakes where tied up on the side of the wheel well for the time being, so that the brake system wouldn&#8217;t get breached with water.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1706\" 473w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They actually looked very similar.\u00a0 Both have double cylinders per caliper, and both slide on with dumb retaining parts.\u00a0 Would have been smarter and easier to just have bolts, but what do I know, I&#8217;m not an engineer or anything.<\/p>\n<p>I pre-cleaned and pre-penetrant the oil brake hose connections, because most of these don&#8217;t come off after ten years, let alone 40 years.\u00a0 I&#8217;m lucky to live in California, so my rust problem is nonexistent.\u00a0 If I&#8217;m lucky and patient, I should be able to disconnect this line without breaking anything.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1708\" Front Right; 4WD; Standard Cab Pickup; To Serial No. Y40001<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course they don&#8217;t work.\u00a0 This is crappy.\u00a0 These hoses have a stupid 90 degree bend that puts the hose directly into the coil.\u00a0 I tried to use my pipe bender to make it straight, but this is strong steel.\u00a0 I would end up breaking it if I try to bend it back further.<\/p>\n<p>I started researching all my Quadravan pictures, parts lists, and emails with other Pathfinder owners to find any part numbers, and there aren&#8217;t any.\u00a0 I went back to the drawing board and starting comparing other brake lines to the shape of the ratty ones on the donor caliper.<\/p>\n<p>I did end up finding some promising photos of the BH80976 and BH80977 from BrakeBest that looked nearly the same as my old ones.\u00a0 Lucky for me, the Redondo O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s had two in stock.\u00a0 Probably the only two left in California.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1710\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nickpisca.com\/diesel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/20260309_221640.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1235\" height=\"570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nickpisca.com\/diesel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/20260309_221640.jpg 1235w, https:\/\/www.nickpisca.com\/diesel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/20260309_221640-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nickpisca.com\/diesel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/20260309_221640-1024x473.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nickpisca.com\/diesel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/20260309_221640-768x354.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1235px) 100vw, 1235px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The BH80977 fit on the passenger side.\u00a0 I should have put a picture of the old and new side-by-side.\u00a0 They aren&#8217;t the same, but they are close enough.<\/p>\n<p>Acting quick, I was able to disconnect the old hose from the lines without issue and keep most of my brake fluid within the system.\u00a0 Driver&#8217;s side leaked faster, but probably because it&#8217;s closer to the reservoir&#8230;
