Pablo Colapinto turned me onto the good Book.  “Physical Biology of the Cell” was published a few months ago and looks to be a solid resource for biological simulations/genetic algorithms.  Pablo said it was recommended to him by a student of one of the authors, Rob Phillips, from Cal Tech.  I just bought it based on the TOC, so I’ll chime in once I get a chance to dive in.

For the entire TOC, download this PDF, and you’ll probably be surprised the complexity handled in this manual.

Also, their site has a bunch of archived videos relating to the book. You don’t have to obtain a copy of the manual to review footage of various real or simulated cellular behaviors.  All videos are downloadable MOV’s.
